Home Alone

Boy, it has been a long time since I posted anything. Lauren is in Vermont for the week so it is just me and the pups. I am also working from home which is making me a little cabin feverish. I think I will go to Asheville today to get out and about.

Took a cute video of the pups playing in my home office last night...mainly for Lauren...

$1.95 gasoline? I never thought I would see this day again!

Can you believe it?? We are back below $2 a gallon for gas. According to my mom, in South Carolina, where the gas taxes are lower, it is going for $1.63 a gallon!

Snow!

We got our first bit of snow of the season this morning. It was a little harry driving down the country road I live on to get out to the highway...but the way to Sylva was clear and by the time I arrived at work there were no flakes falling. It is amazing how much a difference 30 miles and 1,000 feet can make.

Home Again, Election and New Puppie!

Well, sorry it took so long to write an update but things have been hectic since we got back to the USA. The trip back was fine...but exhausting. Here is a tip...never go through JFK if you can avoid it.

First a brief word on the outcome of the election....NORTH CAROLINA IS BLUE!!!!!

Yesterday, Lauren, Gavin and I went to Charlotte to pick up the newest addition to our family...Milli! She is a 10 week old black and tan mini-dachshund. Isn't she the cutest?

Driving up to Father Ted's House

Driving on the back roads of Ireland up to Father Ted's house!

Visiting Father Ted

Lauren and I went out to the edge of the Buren National Park, about 20 km from our place in Ballyvaughan, and had tea with the owner of the house used for the exterior shots in the British comedy "Father Ted". She is a lovely lady, originally from New York, who has owned the house for over 20 years and was able to tell us all about the filming they did there. I know many of you may not know who or what Father Ted is...but do yourself and favor and check it out by clicking [HERE].
