The Great Olympus 50-200mm
Sunday, February 5th, 2012
The Olympus 50-200mm is known for its superb optical quality and great build quality. In terms of build quality, you will notice that this professional zoom lens is the best among all its competitors. Considering its excellent build quality (high quality plastic and metal materials), smooth and responsive zoom ring and focus ring, fast and accurate autofocus, excellent image stabilization and most importantly this lens can match with both the Micro Four Thirds camera and the regular Four Thirds camera.
In terms of controlling optical issues, the Olympus 50-200mm is also very good because it reduces all optical defects to a minimum. Distortion as well as vignetting is fairly well controlled on this lens. They are slightly visible at some focal lengths but they can be ignored since they are very low. At any focal length and aperture, chromatic aberration can be ignored since it is very insignificant. In general, this lens is good in all its operation which is not normal for many (especially zoom) lenses.

The Thrills of Photographing Beautiful Nature
Saturday, January 28th, 2012
I spent two weeks in Tasmania recently on a guided tour with a professional photographer. It was an amazing trip. I have always loved looking at books of Tasmanian photography and wanted to get there one day myself. So when I found these guided photographic tours I jumped at the opportunity and signed up straight away. It was truly an experience I will never forget. We saw stunning scenery, incredible sunrises and sunsets and tasted some of the finest food and wine available. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. He showed us to his favourite places and even let us use some of his gear, like filters and wide angle lenses. I learnt a great deal from him and am going to print up a few of my shots from the trip to hang at home. I don’t need to look in the books and dream anymore, I’ve got all the photos I need right on my own memory card!

Features of the Sony 11-18mm
Sunday, January 22nd, 2012
The Sony 11-18mm lens made waves in late 2005 due to its unique capabilities of producing excellent images during photography. It has a good image stabilization unit that enables one to capture images in motion. It also enables users to do good photography during outdoor activities as a result of its multi aperture performance. The users of the product have come to find out that chromatic aberrations are much reduced.
The lens is mounted on a full frame, thus producing vignetting effects on the sides of the image. This extra touch differentiates this lens from the rest and thus makes the framing of images very easy and more professional. It should however be noted that once the focal length exceeds 15mm the effect of reducing brightness on the margins of the image reduces. Depending on the taste of the user, the lens can be set accordingly to obtain the desired results.

Overview of the Nikkor 35mm 1.8 Lens
Wednesday, January 18th, 2012
The Nikkor 35mm 1.8 lens is a cropped sensor digital SLR compatible lens from the house of Nikon. Nikon has a lot of prime lenses suitable for FX or full frame DSLR cameras, but this one is one of the nest when it comes to the choice of a prime lens for DX or cropped sensor digital SLR cameras. The lens is not compatible with film cameras. The lens is not expensive and costs only a couple of hundred dollars. The lens has average build quality, but the optical quality of this lens is just amazing. It performs great in all light conditions. Vignetting, CA and distortions are really well controlled in this lens and it has become the favorite of a lot of users in such a short span of time. You must definitely buy this lens if you are looking for a good prime lens for your camera.

Camera Used in Landscape Photography
Saturday, January 14th, 2012
Did you say you want to become a landscape photographer? Do you know what it entails to become one? This requires a degree of introspection. But physically speaking, do you own a camera? It goes without saying that a camera is the only tool a photographer will ever need besides a good functional brain. If you want to capture the best of Scottish landscape photography you must have an excellent camera. That is a tall order. Ask any Scottish landscape photographer. An exceptional camera will not fail to provide outstanding photos, why would it anyway in the first place. A Lumix DMC-G3 camera is one of them. Never has there been a camera that captures moments with near perfect precision as Lumix DMC-G3. A keen photographer will consider buying it more than he could a trouser. It offers high image quality and retains a lot of physical control that makes it to produce 15.8-mega pixel photos. It is worth every bit.

What Are Some Benefits of Selling Art Online?
Sunday, November 20th, 2011
Many websites have sprung up to help artists with the task of selling art online; they often charge a nominal fee, some one time, some annual, and some taking a commission of each sale an artist makes, but no matter the payment model being used this is often much less than an artist would pay to display their work in a traditional brick and mortar venue. Virtual listings often allow an artist who is selling art online the option to display at least one image of their work, a description of the piece, and their contact information so that potential buyers can get in touch with them as needed. The advantages of selling art online are numerous, and center around the several ways that you can save both money and time. There is no longer any worry about obtaining and maintaining a physical gallery space (electricity, rent, staff, etc) nor do you need to bother with opening and closing times when selling art online, your online gallery listings are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week all year long.

Gerard Bhengu the Painter
Tuesday, November 1st, 2011
Gerard Bhengu is a world renowned painter who was born on September 6, 1910. Growing up, Gerard’s gift for painting was realized by his friends and family when he showed signs of creativity drawing in his home with charcoal. When he went to school, one of his teachers noticed he had a gift, so he gave Gerard Bhengu a box of crayons. It was here when his gift for art started to grow. The school’s inspector then encouraged him even more by giving him watercolours for him to use. His amazing gift wasn’t really there from the day he was born, rather it was developed by the encouragement and support he received from those around him. If it weren’t for those around him, he would have never continued in his work as an artist.
Gerard Bhengu was an artist who never really created paintings of places or landscapes, but more of people and young kids. However, he did create a few that showed places and several landscapes, but he focused more on people and realistic portraits. Most artists would never go for the type of paintings Bhengu created, as his goes after the African culture and creating paintings that create natural beauty. He used charcoal and watercolour for almost all of his paintings, making him one unique artist as very few painters both in his time and today actually use those types of coloring.
What Gerard struggled with in his painting was the fact that it was difficult to actually make a living in that time. In fact, most painters couldn’t sell a single painting if ever they didn’t market their paintings well. However, he was able to sell his paintings with the help of others who believed in his work. What helped him the most was when he sold his paintings through the Payne Bros department store. Which nailed him a bigger name where people would notice him even more. After many years of painting, he was featured in many exhibitions, but it wasn’t until 1948 in Johannesburg where he finally got his very first solo exhibition.
What’s pretty cool about his paintings is that he goes for a different take than other artists. So, his paintings stand out even until today. Another interesting thing about his work is that many people never believed that he was actually the one painting the artwork showcased in the Payne Brothers department store. So, they got him to paint some of his paintings in person so that on lookers and doubters alike would see the actual truth that it was him that painted the artwork the store showcased. Most didn’t even believe him when they saw him in person, but the feelings and astonishment given to him gave Gerard the courage to paint even more for the company despite the fact that it was hard to make a real living.
Gerard Bhengu is a wonderful artist who has paintings that will last forever. Despite the fact that he died in 1990, his beautiful and stunning artwork can still be appreciated in this generation. In fact, his paintings are showcased in many art exhibitions around the world. Most of his work are even auctioned on a weekly basis, so keep an eye out for these if you want to get a piece of his wonderful paintings. There are many artists who have come and gone, all of which depicted different styles into their paintings, with Gerard offering a bit of his own creativity.

Books for Sale
Tuesday, October 25th, 2011
It was a small shop just across the street. It seems to interest a lot of people. With its design outside, no one would think what product the store is selling. A big wood door with carvings of vines all over it welcomes anyone who enters the shop. As soon as the door is pushed, the chimes hanging at the back of create a distracting noise. The interior is really bright with a neon colors dominating the surrounding. A cinnamon scent occupies the whole place making anyone crave for a cup of coffee or a hot chocolate. Tall shelves are painted in yellows and oranges that definitely catch anyone’s sight. Variety books are properly arranged according to its genre. The floor is fully-carpeted and everything seems to be in proper place. It was a pretty sight for a regular book shop. The shop give away free personalized name tags to its top 100 costumers.

Tamron 70-300 Compared to the Sigma
Wednesday, August 24th, 2011
The Tamron 70-300 can be compared to the Sigma 70-300APOwhich I have owned previously. The Tamron offers about the same image quality as the nonAPOversion of the Sigma lens which again is pretty average in terms of optical performance. I could get decent results in a very narrow range of focal lengths and apertures. However, to me, that really hinders my photography. I want to be able to use a zoom across its full range and wide open if it needs be. You can get decent images from this lens but it will be hard work and I was constantly thinking about whether or not you can get in to the optimal range. In poor light you simply cannot in my opinion. This does not make for spontaneous image taking. It is a real shame as this is a well built, fine handling lens although I personally do not like the plastic lens mounts. If you are on a tight budget, I would say the Sigma 70-300mm APO DG Macro lens is a better bet.
